I consider myself pro-life with exceptions for the life of the mother, rape and incest. I agree with parental consent & notification when a minor is involved. I supported the ultrasound bills in the 2009 through 2012 legislative session and voted for the informed consent bill, signed into law in the 2015 session. As advances in medical technology continue to give us more tools with which to make informed decisions, I think all information should be made available to women. I do not support using public funds for abortion.

As Chair of the House Special Committee on Technology and Advanced Communication, I believe that funding for cyber security, software updates and programs is a necessary cost to maintain the highest level of efficiency in State Government and to stop waste, fraud and abuse.
I sponsored HB585, which helped fund 911 emergency services in the state, and was signed into law by Gov Bevin on 4/13/2016 Cell phones customers with contracts have been paying their share, 70 cents per month for 911, and now those without a contract and those with free phones will pay the same. This bill assures that everyone with a cell phone pay the same, without exception

D) I support the integrity of our legislative districts and taking partisan politics out of the process. I am open to a conversation on how we can achieve that goal. E) Kentucky's current voter law says a voter must produce, Driver's License, Social Security Card, credit card, or another form of ID containing both photo and signature, or be personally acquainted with the precinct officer. I would not support any legislation which would disenfranchise voters.

I believe, in Kentucky, we should protect coal, our greatest energy resource, as well as natural gas and oil. I support common sense ways to protect our environment, but i do not support over-regulation. At the same time, we must continue to invest in Kentucky's energy future, looking towards any and all alternative energy resources. Using the renewable energy which we have in Kentucky will help reduce our dependency on foreign oil. I want Kentucky's energy portfolio to included all of our resources in ou state.

There are benefits to health care reform which I support. Guaranteed insurance for those with preexisting conditions, prohibiting insurance companies from raising rates or dropping people's coverage when they get sick, lowering seniors prescription drug prices, and eliminating lifetime and annual limits, allowing children to stay on their parents plan until they are 26.

As Chair of the House Special Committee on Advanced Communication and Information Technology, i am committed to updating programs and systems which can prevent, identify and curtail fraud, waste and abuses in state programs. I believe this along with modernized tax reform can help our state. I support an expansion of technical and vocational training to have an educated workforce and improvement in education. I will continue to work for healthcare and services for our veterans, seniors citizens and children in need.
